Intellectual Wellness 

Intellectual wellness is recognizing your creative abilities and finding ways to expand your knowledge and skills.  Being intellectually well is characterized as appreciating mental growth and stimulation, participating in intellectual and cultural activities, being occupied with the exploration of new ideas and understandings (, 2014).  Put more simply, “Be open to new ideas, be creative, think critically, and seek out challenges” (, 2015, para. 1). 


  • Read a new book every month
  • Participate in a paint night
  • Teach a class or a workshop
  • Visit your community’s museum
  • Continue your education
  • Mentor a youth or adult
  • Learn a new language
  • Complete a puzzle
