Bike for Good Health

Why bike?

  • Good physical exercise
  • Relieves stress
  • Good for the environment
  • It is cheaper than driving and owning a car
  • It burns calories, helps with weight loss, tones and builds muscle strength

What do I need to bike?

  • Reflectors (front, rear and on wheels) and a horn or bell
  • A blinking red light on the bike’s seat post or on the back of the bike
  • A helmet
    • Snug fit when placed on your head
    • Sit even on your head with one or two fingers width above your eyebrow
    • Straps should be tightened leaving a “v” shape formed just below the ear lobe
    • Tighten chin strap so that no more than one or two fingers fit under the strap
    • Helmet should not move forward, backward or to either side when buckled

Don’t forget

  • Bright colored clothing (reflective clothes at night)
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Drink water before and after you ride
