Best Practices & Practice Guidelines

Best practices are strategies, activities and approaches that research and evaluation have shown to be effective in preventing and/or or delaying substance abuse, violence, or other problem behaviors. Cenpatico has adopted the following Best Practices:
  • Motivational Interviewing,
  • Permanent Supportive Housing,
  • Consumer Operated Services, and
  • Housing First.
The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), has researched and published reference documents called Technical Assistance Documents or Practice Protocols over the years. Cenpatico has adopted these clinical guidance documents by contractual references. These documents are located at https://azahcccs.gov/PlansProviders/GuidesManualsPolicies/guidesandmanuals.html.  In addition, AHCCCS recommends the use of “Tool Kits” available on the AHCCCS website in the Medical Policy Manual, Appendix E and F located at https://azahcccs.gov/Shared/MedicalPolicyManual/?ID=contractormanuals.
